Artist's Description
I developed this large work based on one of my "airport abstracts" from my sketchbooks. When traveling (which is often) I liked to imagine what a particular artist (in this case Calder) might paint from what was in front of them. Calder created a solid silver headboard for Peggy, an illustration of his work was in the book "Confessions of An Art Addict."

I produce works in pencil, acrylic, watercolor, found objects, and digital photography. I completed a Painting Intensive at the San Francisco Art Institute, studying with world renown Israeli artist Larry Abramson and at at the Ox-Bow School of the Art Institute Chicago under Phil Hanson and Michelle Grabner. I earned my BFA from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. My studies included an emphasis in painting and printmaking.
