Santa Fe, New Mexico on a Saturday morning in the Farmer's Market at the Railway Station I saw this woman playing to the crowd. She sat (deliberately I think) like Picasso's Old Guitar Player. Perfect I thought. When I executed the work I appropriated Picasso's background for my work.

I produce works in pencil, acrylic, watercolor, found objects, and digital photography. I completed a Painting Intensive at the San Francisco Art Institute, studying with world renown Israeli artist Larry Abramson and at at the Ox-Bow School of the Art Institute Chicago under Phil Hanson and Michelle Grabner. I earned my BFA from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. My studies included an emphasis in painting and printmaking.
