Artist's Description
Several years ago I was at Sea World in San Diego and watching the crowd. I liked the body language of the 2 ladies in front of me. We were in front of the large tank so the background was a wall of water. I merely eliminated all other visual references. The women have a sort of floating appearance as if they are both solid and buoyant at the same time.
About Kevin Callahan
My philosophy is simple: Composition, Story, Elegant Line. "If you find the elegant line, your work will be lyrical." I produce works in pencil, acrylic, watercolor, found objects, and digital photography. I completed a Painting Intensive at the San Francisco Art Institute, studying with world renown Israeli artist Larry Abramson and at at the Ox-Bow School of the Art Institute Chicago under Phil Hanson and Michelle Grabner. My work is hanging in private collections throughout the United States and Europe. In 2009 I received the Tony Award, a traveling art award honoring individual artists on Fine Art...

This is a very thought provoking painting. Makes me ask all sorts of questions. The body lanuage is great, composition and color. But most of all what are they waiting for or whom are they waiting for? Love how this painting makes one contemplate all the possibilities. Great artwork!!

Man, this is so good, it's not even funny! When I first visited your galleries just after our birthdays, I saw the thumbnail for this and passed it up to comment on another piece... today, for reasons I can't explain, I clicked on this and Wow! You captured so much detail and feeling... Good job, my friend. Good job!

Kevin - I really enjoy this painting - being a fan of Leonard Nimoy's photography - I appreciate the loveliness of the larger woman.

Very interesting! Mom, daughter? passing of time?, twinkies? Don't need or want to know. This is art to me, stimulates thought. Great work Kevin!
